MIT Researcher (Mobility Design & Urban Information Systems)
Phil is a practitioner of innovation across scales and physical-digital medium, with over 8 years experience in product, human-centered design, and organizational development strategies and execution. He has experience collaborating with Fortune 500 companies and top-level government agencies on designing human interaction and service delivery for systems at scales ranging from corporate headquarters to mobile phones. He has extensive in-market experience across the emerging markets, and now co-chairs MIT’s Urban Africa Initiative. Phil’s work at MIT focuses on Future Mobility, Persuasive Technology, and Urban Information Systems. He leads the development of mobility simulation app for fleet deployment and optimization of Shared Autonomous Vehicles (SAV). He is specifically interested in ways to combine human-centered design, policy, data science, behavior interventions and emerging technologies to create products, services and urban systems that enable sustainable and healthy lifestyles.
